A day of off pist skiing accompanied by one of our alpine guides. No helicopter is necessary as we will use off pist routes which are accessible by using ski lifts followed in some cases by short walks ( the maximum being about 45 min).
There are two levels of difficulty
This is ideal for the skiers who have a good standard of skiing on piste and would like to try off pist for the first time.
The skiing will be of medium difficulty and shorter in actual skiing time so that confience can be built up and time given to enjoying new techniques and scenery ( for the less experienced ).
The group will comprise of a maximum of 7 people with a local guide.
We would advise less experienced skiers to hire our special off piste skis.
280 € group of 1 to 3 people, 4 people 80 euro/pax, 5 people 70 euro/pax, 6 people 65 euro/pax and 7 people 60 euro/pax.
The rate includes
Level two: ( for experts )
This is for experienced off pist skiers who would like the challenge of more difficult runs but enjoing the safety, expertise and knowledge of the alpine guide.
The runs are accessible either direct from the ski lift or using skins to reach the start of the run ( max one hour ). The descents will be steep and in some case require ropes.
The groups consist of one guide to three skiers and often two groups will ski togeter for extra safety ie two guides to six skiers.
The actual programme will be finalised on the day bearing in mind the weather and snow conditions ( security first ! ).
The rate includes
-Technical equipement if necessary for glacier skiing
For each program normal ski equipment and a small rucksack for skiing are required.
For very good skiers we propose a series of deep descents on the Monte Rosa massif.
It is a special series of programmes that requires a very high technical preparation and a check made by the Alpine guide leading the tour.
Each Guide will have one or a maximum of 2 guests.
Some examples of very difficult descents we propose: NORTH FACE OF THE PUNTA VITTORIA
SOUTH-WEST FACE OF THE PIRAMIDE VINCENT
SOUTH FACE OF THE LYSKAMM ( KUGY ROUTE )
MARINELLI COULOIR ( ZUMSTEIN DEPARTURE )
EAST FACE OF THE PARROT SPITZE

Preparation day yesterday for the Downhill Competition on National level in Champoluc - Frachey. The track is challenging and fast. The lift-train brings bikes and occasional visitors up to Mandria. Many of the 250 partecipants were already training hard. One fell in the woods and was rescued by the Aosta Valley Rescue Team by helicopter. See the video.
Bike on the Italian side of Monterosa is already popular in Cervinia, where you can bring your bike with the highest cable car to 3600 m and slide down to the town at 2000 m. Since last summer it is also possible to have bike fun in the valleys of Champoluc and Gressoney, where they have opened a few downhill tracks (see next news about Italian Championship). The organization of the classic race has decided to ostpone the start because of the very bad weather forecasts for this week-end. At the moment it is not yet decided when it will be possible to start. Hopefully the participants have to wait only for a couple of days. News on www.trofeomezzalama.org
