The organization of the classic race has decided to ostpone the start because of the very bad weather forecasts for this week-end. At the moment it is not yet decided when it will be possible to start. Hopefully the participants have to wait only for a couple of days. News on www.trofeomezzalama.org

We started our web site in 1996 with the aim of informing about the Monte Rosa area, the mountains and the villages sorrownding the second biggest mountain chain of Europe. We have developed our information to imclude suggestion of tours both in winter and in summer to explore and enjoy the mountains and we offer our expertize to travel here with us.
Starting a couple of year ago we also regularly write a blog. We have during the same time also developed www.thealps.com, to provide information about the resorts of the Alps. It includes a complete hotel search and booking online, weather forecasts, piste maps, trail maps and has also a special section for Genuine Tourism.
We are communicating on Twitter and Facebook and we send out a newsletter to inform about what’s going on in the Alps and about our planned tours and travel.

"I am passionate about the Alps, they are my heart's home and the place where I would like to spend the last day of my life. I have been a tourist in the village of Champoluc in the Italian Monterosa for all my life and work as a tourist operator in this area since more than 15 years.
I believe in respect for the special environment of this places, with flowers and animals that you can find only here. Not to talk about the glaciers and the importance of the water for the rest of Europe. I believe that we all gain by enjoying this beautiful environment, but trying to make a minimum of inpact. Leave this for our children and for the future.
I believe in respect for the people who live here with their traditions and their culture, their language, their work on the territory, their genuine products, their wines. They open their homes for us tourists and meet us as their guests, if we are able to open our hearts for them. I have a friend who is a hotel owner and he says that when stressed people from the city come to his place, he tells them to sit down and take a drink before they even begin to worry if they have a room. Perhaps we can bring a little of this kindness and calm with us to the city when we get back.
My philosophy is to give back a little of what the mountains and the people from this place have given to me and to my family through my work, to communicate my philosophy and my passion to the people who follow me on my web sites and in my trips as a tour operator.
I write a blog to spread my thoughts and the experiences I make during my tours and my skiing trips with my guests.
I would like to use my web sites: www.monterosa.com and www.thealps.com as channels to communicate about a more respectful and genuine tourism. And I am ready to open them to people with the same philosophy, weather they are "tourists" or inhabitants of the Alps.
Because I believe this is the only way to help our world become a better place!"
